Lost in time and space, fighting for survival
Tales from the Void is an atmospheric real time tactics game inspired by early 20th century sci-fi adventure stories. The game was developed by PortaPlay, a small independent company based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The core gameplay is a hybrid between real time strategy and third person action games, with low-gravity squad-based combat and time freeze mechanics.
I was part of the team on Tales from the Void for the last 8 months of production. During that time, I mainly focused on level design, gameplay balancing, level-specific gameplay scripting and additional design related tasks.
During the last months at PortaPlay I also worked on my bachelor thesis named Ante Mortem: Design Iterations from Alpha to Release Using a Combination of Testing Methodologies. Please contact me if you would like to know more about it.
